Notification Preferences
If you only wish to change your notification preferences, reducing e-mails from us, as opposed to closing your account, visit Profile Preferences (top menu)
and adjust the
green
sections as desired.
Temporary Withdrawal (Private Account)
If you wish to temporarily withdraw (hide) your DancePartner.com account, visit your Preferences (Profile Preferences from the top menu) and within the Privacy section, set Visibility to Private. While Private, you will no longer be shown in member searches, however you can search yourself, if desired.
You may make your profile visible at a later date, if you wish, by changing that back to Public.
- If you have tokens, a Temporary Closure will save your tokens without time limit.
- If you have a subscription, a Temporary Closure will not alter your subscription expiration date or renewal date.
Permanent Account Closure
Note that members may keep their accounts forever for free. Most welcome being contacted by others in the DancePartner.com community.
Unless you've stopped dancing for the balance of your life, keeping your account allows others to contact you. You do not need to subscribe to correspond with Gold members and those using Token e-mails.
That said, to close your DancePartner.com account if you prefer to do so:
- While logged in, visit (from the top menu)
Profile My Account, then click the Close Account button.
—— or ——
- Click "Cancel Service" at the bottom of any DancePartner.com page.
Unless you have auto-login enabled, you'll be prompted to login to verify your identity before reaching the account closure page.
If you've forgotten your username or password, a password reset button appears on both our Login page and Cancel Service page.
You may ask our staff to close your account for you, but only
if you have no active subscription and no unused tokens:
- Send an e-mail requesting account closure to support@DancePartner.com from your DancePartner.com registered e-mail address.
—— or ——
- Send a Help Desk message (or e-mail) requesting account closure and include your username and password.
—— or ——
- If your account's e-mail address is no longer functioning, and you've forgotten the account's password, and you have registered a 'secret question', send a message to support@DancePartner.com with an account closure request along with the secret question answer.
If you've forgotten your 'secret question', just ask us via support@DancePartner.com.
Any of the above confirm that you are the owner of said account.
Note that requesting an account closure via our HELP desk does not confirm that you're the owner of the stated account. Therefore, to close your account, please follow any of the appropriate methods above.
Account Closure Effect
- DancePartner.com will cease contacting you.
- Members will be blocked from contacting you.
- Your profile, photos, and messages will no longer be visible to other members.
- You will no longer appear in member search results, favorites, or other lists.
- Per our terms-of-use, no refunds or partial refunds are offered.
- Your account will be expunged from our database no sooner than 30 days after account closure.
- If you've purchased anything (subscription, tokens, etc.), your account, although invisible to others, will remain in our database for a minimum of 7 years per IRS record keeping requirements.
You may re-open your account, if desired, within a 30-day grace period. If you re-open within this period:
- All content (profile, photos, e-mails*, etc.) will be intact and visible once again.
- If you had a token balance, it will still be available, unchanged.
- If you had a subscription, your pre-existing expiration will be unchanged.
* E-mails might be expunged, however, based on our standard e-mail retention policy.
