How do I cancel (DELETE) my account?

You're in control of your own account.

You need not contact our staff to alter your e-mail preferences, hide your profile, or even delete your account. You may do these yourself.

However, before making a decision, please be advised:

You may keep your free membership as long as you wish. As a free member you may use nearly all the features of our site including browsing, reading and sending greetings, as well as reading e-mails from and replying to Gold members for free.

Since creating a membership profile is time consuming, we do not recommend deleting your account if you plan on using DancePartner.com in the future!

Here are instructions for operations you may wish to do:

Retrieve username and password
  1. Click Login
  2. Click "Forgot Username or Password?"
Stop newsletters/promotions/ads
  1. Login to DancePartner.com
  2. Click Preferences (center panel of home page) or My Account->Preferences from the top menu
  3. Make notification changes desired
  4. SAVE
Stop "new matches near you" notices
  1. Login to DancePartner.com
  2. Click Preferences (center panel of home page) or My Account->Preferences from the top menu
  3. Make notification changes desired
  4. SAVE
Hide account (stop receiving member e-mails)
  1. Login to DancePartner.com
  2. Click Preferences (center panel of home page) or My Account->Preferences from the top menu
  3. In the Features section, set Profile Searchable? to NO.
Tip: If you currently have un-read e-mails in your Mailbox: read them, delete them, or move them to a personal folder to avoid future "you have unread messages" reminders.
Delete account
  1. Login to DancePartner.com
  2. Click My Profile -> My Account
  3. Click the orange button "DELETE MY ACCOUNT"
Since creating an account is time consuming, we advise against deleting your account if you may wish to use our site again. Hiding your profile (above) would be a more efficient choice as you may easily re-activate yourself at a later time.
